This is where to get your covid-19 vaccine in Eastern Kenya
As Christmas season sets in, and many Kenyans rush to travel to different parts of the country, the possibility of covid-19 cases rising remains high.
According to the Ministry of Health, 8.9 million Kenyans had received covid-19 vaccines, with 3.6 million Kenyans fully vaccinated as at December 20, 2021. On the same day, the country recorded 1,020 cases of the corona virus disease out of a sample size of 3,444.
As the government continues the vaccination drive, Kenyans in the Eastern region can access the doses from 133 health facilities. In Embu county, the covid-19 jab is available in Embu level 5 Hospital, Kairuri health centre, Embu G.K prison Majimbo, Mbeere subcounty Hospital, Ishiara subcounty Hospital, Embu Children’s hospital-Tenri, Imara-Medi plus Hospital, Runyejes Runyejes subcounty Hospital, Kianjokoma Health Centre Karurumo Health Center and Consolata Hospital.
In Kitui county, locals can access the covid-19 jab from Katulani Sub County Hospital, Kitui County Referral Hospital, Jordan Hospital, Neema Hospital, Zombe Sub County Hospital, Mutitu Sub County hospital, Kanyangi Sub County Hospital, Mutomo Sub County Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes Mutomo Hospital among other facilities.
Locals have options on the vaccine to take and can log into the Ministry of Health’s covid-19 portal to register for vaccination and download their certificate once they have taken the final dose of the vaccine.
For residents of Machakos County, the covid-19 jab is available Kathiani Level 4 Hospital, Kaviani Health Centre, Ithaeni Dispensary, Muumandu Health Centre, Kola Health Centre, Kangundo L4 Hospital, Kakuyuni Health Centre, Kivaani Health Centre, Kangundo Ndunduni Dispensary, Mukunike Community Hospital, Machakos Level 5 Hospital, Mutituni L4 Hospital and Bishop Kioko Catholic Hosp among others.
Other centres in the upper eastern county include: Ikulu Dispensary, Mua Dispensary, Machakos Approved Dispensary, Masinga Level 4 Hospital, Ndithini Level 4 Hospital, Mananja Health Centre, Kithyoko Health Centre, Kangonde Health Centre, Ekalakala Health Centre, Kathukini Dispensary, Kimiti Level 4 Hospital, Sengani Community Hospital, Matungulu Health Centre, Nguluni Health Centre, Kyeleni Health Centre, Donyo Sabuk Dispensary and Mavoko Level 4 Hospital.
Kenyans living in lower eastern parts of the country can access the vaccines from Chuka County referral hospital, Komarock Morden Hospital, Kajuki Hospital, Muthambi Health Centre, PCEA Chogoria hospital, Magutuni Hospital, Gatunga Model Health centre, Marimanti Hospital, Kibung’a Hospital and St. Orsola Hospital in Tharaka Nithi County.
In Meru county, residents can access the jab from Maua Methodist Hospital, Kanyakine SC Hospital, Consolata Mission Hospital, Mikumbune SC Hospital, Kinoro SC Hospital, St Ann Miss. Hospital, Githongo SC Hospital,
Cottolengo Mission Hospital, Meru County Hospital, Giaki SC Hospital, East Muthara SC Hospital, St. John of God Miss. Hospital, Mikinduri sub county Hospital, Miathene SC Hospital and Mbeu Sub County Hospital.
The jab is also available in Timau sub county Hospital, St.Theresa Mission Hospital Kiirua, Kangeta SC Hospital,
Mutuati SC Hospital and Nyambene sub county Hospital.
Residents of Makueni County can access the covid-19 vaccine from Mukuyuni Subcounty Hospital, Kilungu Subcounty Hospital, Kikoko Mission Hospital, Kibwezi Subcounty Hospital, Kambu Subcounty Hospital, Mtito Andei Subcounty Hospital, Makindu Subcounty Hospital, Kilome Nursing Home, Mulatya Memorial Hospital, Sultan Hamud Subcounty Hospital, Mutyambua Subcounty Hospital, Matiliku Subcounty Hospital, Makueni County Referral Hospital, Ralpha Hospital, Royal Star Hospital, Tawa Subcounty Hospital, Mbooni Subcounty Hospital and and Kisau Subcounty Hospital.
