Pathways Technologies Ltd and Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) on March 18, 2024, announced the launch of specialized training in Data Science and Data Analytics at Kabete National Polytechnic.The initiative is aimed at providing access to digital skills, e-services, and online opportunities to the youth across the country.
“We are committed to empowering Kenyan youth with the skills they need to thrive in the innovation age – problem-solving, creativity, and a strong foundation in data science,” said Joel Onditi, CEO of Pathways Technologies.
KoTDA ,a leading data, technology, and innovation company,first formed the patnership with Pathway Technologies in 2023.The launch program marks the beginning of adding 50 Data Analytics, Data Science, and software development professionals to Kenya’s workforce as well as equipping one million Kenyan youth with digital skills.
“This training program will play a key role in providing hands-on experience, practical knowledge, industry-relevant skills, and employment opportunities to empower youths and students to contribute to the digital revolution,”commented John Paul Okwiri, CEO of KoTDA.
While expressing satisfaction with Kabete National Polytechnic’s role as the inaugural Jitume Lab, Owiri praised Pathways for addressing the growing demand for tech skills in Kenya.He said it was a call for action to harness patnership.
“This initiative is a call to action for all who share our passion for empowering the next generation. By joining forces, we can equip them with cutting-edge technologies and innovative teaching methods therefore shaping Kenya’s future.”he said.
The initiative is the first step of achieving the Jitume Program’s goal, of paving the way for a brighter, more technologically advanced future for the nation.
