The 2025 Ashoka Power of Local Challenge is now open for applications, inviting organizations from around the globe that are committed to supporting small businesses. This competition offers a chance to win up to $60,000 in prizes and aims to recognize those who provide diverse and equitable opportunities for small businesses to thrive.
Ashoka is looking for organizations that help small businesses access essential resources, tools, and networking opportunities. These ecosystem builders work to ensure small businesses have the support they need to succeed in competitive environments.
In addition to the cash prizes, which include $15,000 for ten winners and a Grand Prize of $60,000, participants will gain access to a network of changemakers, peer reviews, and exclusive feedback roundtables. The competition also offers self-paced training opportunities to help participants further their impact and improve their projects.
Semifinalists will have the chance to refine their applications with feedback from experts and connect with others in the field.
The challenge is open to applicants from Botswana, Brazil, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Liberia, Mexico, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. The deadline for applications is February 26, 2025.
