Oxfam Ethiopia is looking for a Program Manager to oversee its work in Northern Ethiopia. This role involves managing projects, leading teams, and working with partners and stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery.
Role Overview:
The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing Oxfam’s projects in Northern Ethiopia, including managing partnerships and coordinating with key stakeholders. The role also involves ensuring quality implementation, identifying new program opportunities, and working closely with the Business Development Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manager and lead the Oxfam team working in the Northern Ethiopia programme office (and sub-offices.
- Manage and oversee humanitarian and development programs in Northern Ethiopia.
- Ensure effective budgeting, planning, and performance monitoring of projects.
- Ensure quality implementation and outcomes of ongoing projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors and ensure clear reporting.
- Identify and manage risks and crises when needed.
- Identifying and seeking opportunities for programs in close collaboration with the Business

Requirements:
- First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (preferably economics, politics, sociology, humanities, development, agronomy) or significant relevant years of experience at this level with International Agencies or NGO’s.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in emergency and development work, leading a programme office, and an understanding of relevant issues, experience
- Familiar with and abide by the NGO/Red Cross Code of Conduct, the People in Aid Code, Oxfam International procedures and other regulatory codes (e.g. InterAction Field Co-operation Protocol).
- Extensive experience in international programme management, including budgeting, result based planning, performance based monitoring and evaluation and the full programme cycle, ideally within an international NGO.
- Competency in use of relevant technology systems (MS Office skills) and office systems
- Fluency in English (written and verbal), fluency in Amharic is seen as an added value
- Proactive in anticipating problems and finding solutions on his/her own.
- Willingness to travel when needed, sometimes in difficult conditions.
