The New Africa Fund has launched the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant (AIFG) Program, a new initiative designed to support African NGOs, community-based organizations, and social enterprises in strengthening their fundraising capacity.
The program provides training, practical fundraising experience, and financial support to help organizations access new sources of funding and improve their donor engagement strategies.
The AIFG program begins with an online training module focused on small donor campaigns. Participating organizations learn essential fundraising skills, including campaign planning, outreach, and donor engagement.
Following this, organizations take part in a 30-day fundraising challenge, where they can apply their skills in real-time and secure up to $5,000 USD in matching funds based on donations raised from small donors.
Top-performing organizations will be invited to a week-long intensive workshop at the New Africa Fund training center in Kigali, Rwanda.
This workshop covers critical fundraising topics such as financial management, marketing, communications, grant writing, donor research, donor cultivation and retention, individual donor campaigns, and locally relevant fundraising strategies.
Eligibility and Application Criteria
Organizations wishing to apply for the AIFG program must meet the following criteria:
- Must be registered in one of the 55 African Union member states.
- Must be an NGO, community-based organization, or social enterprise.
- Must be able to participate in the online training and 30-day fundraising challenge.
- Must commit to providing data and reporting on fundraising results for monitoring purposes.
