Jackline Saleiyan has been selected as a nominee for the prestigious 2024 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize.
The prize is awarded annually to outstanding leaders globally who demonstrate the willingness and capacity to address the complexity of 21st-century challenges.
Seleiyan’s philanthropic endeavors have been focused on promoting social inclusion and advocating for the rights of women and girls within her community.
She is the visionary behind the establishment of A Pack a Month, a Community-Based Organization (CBO) dedicated to empowering teenage mothers and young women in Kajiado County, Kenya.
The organization serves as a guiding light, providing mentorship and distributing sanitary pads every month to young girls and women to eliminate transactional sex.
She also operates a Daycare and Adolescent Mothers Empowerment Center, providing complimentary daycare services to teenage mothers to facilitate their pursuit of education.
Saleiyan’s additional accomplishments include initiating the “I am Priceless” Tournament, an annual football competition exclusively for girls and young women in Kajiado North.
Saleiyan’s notable accomplishments also encompass the inception of the “I am Priceless” Tournament, an annual football event exclusively tailored for girls and young women in Kajiado North.
This tournament not only serves as a platform for these individuals to exhibit their exceptional talents but also fosters a conducive environment for networking, idea exchange, and mutual social support among participants.
Though nominated Saleiyan and other nominees are going to be scrutinized by a jury who will handpick, in their discernment, the top 3 candidates as the Winners.
The declarations will be announced in November, and the award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Italy in January 2025.
Each winner will be granted an unrestricted grant of $50,000 (Ksh.6,450,000.00) and will be extended an invitation to become part of the Tällberg network of global leaders.
Saleiyan has previously garnered numerous accolades, the most recent being the Trailblazer Award bestowed by His Excellency President William Ruto on March 8th, 2024. She has also been recognized by The Priceless Project, a US-based community organization in 2023.
