
The Africa Tech Summit Awards 2025 has recognized the most innovative entrepreneurs and ventures shaping the tech industry across the continent. The awards ceremony took place during the seventh edition of the Africa Tech Summit in Nairobi, powered by Raenest. The event brought together over 1,600 tech leaders from more than 65 countries.
“The Awards were created to celebrate tech companies driving business and growth across a range of sectors, and it was fantastic to host so many finalists doing this, all in one room. A huge thank you to our independent judging panel and to everyone who joined us in recognizing their achievements, cheering them on, and closing the seventh Africa Tech Summit Nairobi on a high,” said Lauren Adair, Director of Africa Tech Summit, in a press release on February 18, 2025.
The winners were announced on February 13, 2025, selected from a pool of 55 outstanding companies and individuals who made it to the finals. The Africa Tech Summit Awards honored winners across 11 sector categories and two individual categories, highlighting remarkable achievements in technology and innovation.
Individual Winners
Female Tech Innovator – Chinwe Udo-Davis (Nigeria): Co-Founder & CEO of Instollar, a green energy marketplace tackling limited access to clean and reliable energy in Africa. Through the InstallHer initiative, Instollar trains women in solar installation, equipping them with skills and creating job opportunities in the green economy.
Young Tech Innovator – Maxwell Opondo (Kenya): Developer of Zerobionic, a robotic arm that translates sign language into real-time communication, enabling students with hearing impairments to interact more effectively.

Agritech Award: Mazao AgClimate Limited (Tanzania) – Provides climate-smart agricultural solutions to Tanzanian farmers, using technology to analyze weather patterns, optimize farming practices, and improve crop yields while mitigating climate change impacts.
AI Award: Cassava Technologies (South Africa) – A pan-African technology company offering AI-driven infrastructure solutions, including connectivity, cybersecurity, cloud services, fintech, and renewable energy.
Climate Tech Award: Sabi (Nigeria) – A digital infrastructure company optimizing supply chains and sustainability through blockchain-based real-time traceability, ESG compliance, and carbon tracking.
Cross Border Payments Award: Flutterwave (Nigeria) – A leading provider of seamless global payment solutions for businesses and individuals, offering online checkouts, payment links, and POS systems.
Digital Commerce Award: OmniRetail (OmniBiz) (Nigeria) – A business platform connecting FMCG distributors and retailers, streamlining product distribution, and improving supply chain efficiency.
EdTech Award: Ikusasa Technology Solutions (South Africa) – Provides digital education and vocational training, enhancing technological skills for businesses and individuals.
Enterprise Award: Smile ID (Nigeria) – A digital identity verification solution specializing in fraud detection, anti-money laundering, and KYC compliance with a 99.8% facial recognition accuracy rate.
FemTech Award: My Pregnancy Journey (South Africa) – A web-based app offering culturally relevant and locally focused health guidance for expecting mothers.
FinTech Award: HUB2 (Mauritius) – A fintech company specializing in payment infrastructure and interoperability in Francophone Africa.
Health Tech Award: Zuri Health (Kenya) – A digital healthcare platform providing remote doctor consultations, medication orders, lab tests, and home visits through SMS, WhatsApp, app, and web.
Web3 Award: MiniPay (Nigeria/Norway) – A stablecoin-based, non-custodial wallet allowing instant money transfers using just a phone number, providing a seamless and low-cost digital currency transaction solution.
