Tiktok Changemakers Programme
TikTok isn’t just where trends begin; it’s where movements grow.
Across the platform, creators are using their voices to champion causes that matter, sparking conversations and driving collective action among TikTok’s community of over one billion users.
From advocating for mental health to promoting digital safety, sustainability, and cultural storytelling, TikTok has become a hub where passions turn into purpose and authentic stories create real-world impact.
Whether it’s fundraising for critical causes, spotlighting the urgency of climate change, or celebrating the richness of African heritage, creators are mobilizing communities, igniting global conversations, and fueling tangible progress.
To strengthen this wave of social advocacy, TikTok is proud to announce the return of its Change Makers Program for 2025.
Supporting Creators Driving Change
Now in its second year, the TikTok Change Makers Program is designed to celebrate and elevate creators who are harnessing the platform to inspire, educate, and advocate for positive change.
The five-month initiative provides selected creators with training, resources, and exclusive opportunities to amplify their impact.
Through mentorship, events, and collaboration with peers and thought leaders, TikTok aims to ensure these mission-driven voices reach wider audiences both online and offline.
This year, TikTok introduces a global cohort of 50 Change Makers creators whose dedication spans diverse fields including health, agriculture, climate action, history, and social equity.
Together, they highlight the transformative power of creativity and community in addressing today’s most pressing challenges.
Sub-Saharan Africa at the Forefront
Among this year’s honorees are standout voices from Sub-Saharan Africa whose work exemplifies grassroots action and global vision:
Sinethemba Masinga (@ufarm_julia), South Africa: A rural farmer and agri-preneur, Sinethemba is redefining agriculture in her community through a woman-led agri-processing brand.
By championing female leadership and innovation, she empowers rural women and promotes sustainable practices.
Her deep passion for food, community, and opportunity continues to inspire others to embrace agriculture as a driver of resilience.
Dr. Olawale Ogunlana (@olawalesmd), Nigeria: A licensed medical doctor and digital innovator, Dr. Ogunlana is on a mission to make health knowledge accessible for all.
His engaging content simplifies health issues for digital audiences, creating spaces for meaningful dialogue around wellness.
He also serves as one of four TikTok Wellness Ambassadors for Sub-Saharan Africa and is a member of WHO Fides, extending his impact beyond the platform.
Anita Soina (@anitasoina), Kenya:
From Kenya’s Indigenous Maasai community, Anita is a climate change and community development advocate.
She founded Restoration Warriors Africa, a youth-led movement restoring ecosystems, and The Soina Foundation, which supports marginalized groups through education, WASH services, and climate resilience.
A digital SDGs influencer and former Global Youth Champion for the UN-hosted Sanitation and Water for All, Anita has amplified grassroots solutions globally.
At just 21, she became the youngest parliamentary candidate in Kenya’s 2022 election.
Valerie Keter (@valerie_keter), Kenya:
A filmmaker and digital storyteller, Valerie is passionate about uncovering Africa’s overlooked history.
Through her films, she highlights civilizations, cultures, and contributions that continue to shape the world.
Her work not only honors the past but also serves as a bridge, inspiring Africans and the diaspora to reconnect with their roots and imagine futures grounded in pride and identity.
Building on a Strong Legacy
The 2025 Change Makers build on the achievements of the 2024 cohort, which demonstrated the power of creative advocacy on TikTok.
Last year, Sub-Saharan African creators including Charity Ekezie (@charityekezie), Dr. Siyamak Saleh (@doctor.siya), Dennis Ombachi (@TheRoamingChef), and Melissa (@dpilot_onthegram) inspired their communities through more than 7,000 #TikTokforGood posts.
Their work showcased how meaningful content can spark conversations and mobilize change offline.
Reflecting on this impact, Kim Farrell, Global Head of Creators at TikTok, said:
“We’re incredibly proud of our 2024 Change Makers for sparking meaningful conversations on TikTok and beyond, showcasing that their content and communities drive real progress.”
“As we look forward to collaborating with our 2025 Change Makers, we remain committed to equipping creators with tools, resources, and opportunities to inspire positive change and impact around the world.”
A Growing Movement for Change
As the TikTok Change Makers Program enters its second year, it underscores a commitment to supporting the people and stories that inspire communities globally.
From rural farms in South Africa to climate action movements in Kenya, from health advocacy in Nigeria to storytelling that bridges Africa’s past and future, TikTok Change Makers prove that movements can begin in short-form videos and ripple outward into lasting change.
By elevating these creators, TikTok is not only amplifying their voices but also nurturing a global culture where creativity and advocacy work hand in hand.
The 2025 Change Makers stand as proof that TikTok is more than a platform for trends; it is a catalyst for progress.
