A new virtual webinar is set to spotlight how spirituality is being translated into practical responses to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. The webinar will be held on March 18th, 2026.
Positioned at the intersection of spiritual storytelling and broader conversations around faith-based philanthropy, the initiative extends beyond institutional religion to encompass diverse belief systems, indigenous traditions, and values-driven community action.
Organised by the Fetzer Institute, the online event will introduce the Spiritual Solutions Library, a global storytelling platform featuring more than 90 case studies that document how communities are addressing social problems through a spiritual lens.
The library brings together reported stories, short films, and photo essays from across continents, capturing how spiritual values, cultural traditions, and inner reflection are shaping responses to issues ranging from climate change and violence to injustice and social fragmentation.
According to organisers, the initiative seeks to make visible the often-overlooked role of spirituality in driving collective action and community resilience.
Stories from the Ground
During the live virtual conversation, contributors to the Spiritual Solutions Library will share insights from their work with communities in diverse settings.
Among the featured stories are sustainable farming traditions in Mexico that draw on ancestral ecological knowledge, as well as grassroots responses to domestic violence in Barbados rooted in faith-based and community-centred approaches.
Speakers will reflect on why spiritual framing matters in addressing social challenges, what they have learned from working alongside communities, and how storytelling can foster empathy, understanding and broader engagement.
Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and interact directly with panellists during the session.
Bridging Inner Life and Collective Action
The Fetzer Institute describes the Spiritual Solutions Library as an effort to explore what becomes possible when inner life values, beliefs, and spiritual practices meet public action.
By curating stories from different cultural and geographic contexts, the initiative aims to broaden conversations about social transformation beyond policy and economics, highlighting the moral and spiritual dimensions that often underpin sustainable change.
