IShowSpeed has announced the launch of a new philanthropic initiative, the IShowSpeed Foundation, marking his formal entry into structured charitable work focused on youth development through sport.
The announcement was made via his official Instagram page, where he stated that the foundation is now “live” and will operate in partnership with Common Goal under the broader framework of World Football Giving Day, a global football-led philanthropy initiative that mobilises players, organisations, and fans to support community-based development projects.
According to his statement, the initiative will channel support toward African-led football programmes across multiple countries on the continent.
It is designed to strengthen grassroots football structures, improve access to training opportunities, and provide basic sports equipment for young players.
In his reflections shared at launch, IShowSpeed said the foundation is rooted in gratitude for the reception he received during his recent travels across Africa.
He noted that his experiences across the continent reshaped his understanding of young people and their shared aspirations, adding that “kids everywhere just want to have fun and chase their dreams.”
The initial campaign will run until June 11, with beneficiary organisations expected to be announced on July 19. The initiative is expected to support football development programmes across approximately 20 African countries visited during his tour.
As part of the launch, he also pledged an initial contribution of $50,000 (approximately KSh 6.4 million) to kick-start the campaign, aimed at building early momentum and encouraging wider public participation in fundraising efforts.
Attention will now turn to how implementing partners select beneficiary programmes across the 20 countries and how effectively the initiative translates online visibility into tangible support for grassroots football development.
