Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Andrew Mulwa has been confirmed as the winner of the prestigious African Governance Award 2024. His recognition as the “Most Outstanding Medical Supplies Authority Across Africa” is testament to Dr. Mulwa’s exemplary transformational leadership and KEMSA’s commitment to excellence.
The awards scheme has been conceptualised to identify and publicly recognise sovereign institutions from all across Africa. These include multilateral institutions active across the continent and the collaborating, supporting and partnering private enterprises that have made exemplary contributions to good governance on the continent with regards to political governance and socio-economic development.

KEMSA is a state corporation with the mandate to procure, warehouse, and distribute medicines and medical supplies for prescribed public health programs, the national strategic stock reserve, defined essential health packages, and the national referral hospitals.
