Citi Hoppa Flags Off New Isuzu Buses as part of modernization strategy

Nairobi City commuter service Citi Hoppa has expanded its transportation solutions by incorporating 24 new Isuzu NQR buses into its fleet. The ceremonial launch of the initial 10 buses took place at TMD Ruaka on August 16th, 2024.

This fleet represents a segment of Citi Hoppa’s investment strategy of Ksh. 175 million towards modernization to enhance the quality of services provided to passengers. The fleet is named “G20 Design” as a tribute to City Hopper’s two decades of operation since its establishment in 2004.

Thika Motor Dealers (TMD) Managing Director and Chairman of Isuzu EA Dealers Council George Wambugu praised the collaboration. He affirmed that it exemplified the company’s commitment to nurturing customer relationships.

Marking the launch, the new Isuzu NQR 33-seater buses will provide a one-way free transport to passengers from Kencom Stage, in Nairobi CBD to various destinations such as Kawangware, Kenyatta, and Ngumo. The remaining 14 buses in the fleet are scheduled to be launched by the end of the year.
