Train the Trainer Application now open
The Solutions Journalism Network (SJN) is inviting applications from journalism educators, editors, journalists, and enthusiasts of solutions journalism who are keen on honing their skills in delivering solutions-oriented training.
Established in 2013, the Solutions Journalism Network is a nonprofit organization that has been advocating for a global transformation in journalism. Its emphasis is on reporting solution-based stories and highlighting the lessons learned from their achievements or setbacks.
The platform also reveals an array of materials that are beneficial for journalists to report on solution stories.
The training, scheduled for December, is designed to bolster solutions journalism initiatives with SJN’s accreditation and assistance.
The training will consist of five virtual sessions conducted over two weeks from December 4th to 13th.
The program aims to educate participants on the essence of solutions journalism, its significance, and the methodology for both practicing and teaching it according to the four fundamental criteria of solutions journalism.
Additionally, attendees will delve into global case studies and engaging exercises, enabling them to seamlessly integrate this approach into their respective roles as journalists and storytellers.
Other accomplished trainers from the SJN network will also be enlisted for the workshop to offer valuable insights into their work. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and establish meaningful connections that will contribute to their professional growth.
The deadline for applications is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET. Candidates selected for the workshop will be notified by Wednesday, November 20th.
