The 2024 African Philanthropy Network (APN) Assembly will occur from November 4th to 8th at the Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Hosted by the East Africa Philanthropy Network (EAPN), this gathering will bring together various delegates and philanthropic organizations from across Africa and around the globe.
APN is a platform that supports African philanthropy. It brings together organizations and individuals from Africa and its diaspora to discuss how resources are raised, shared, and used, which affects positive change in communities.
Through collaboration, APN seeks to promote a culture of giving across the continent, spearheading the APN Assembly.
The assembly has been held once every two years since 2010 in various African countries, facilitating the sharing of experiences, insights, and collective reflections on the evolution of African philanthropy.
The 2024 Assembly will specifically focus on the responsiveness of philanthropic practices and policies in addressing the challenges faced by African communities. Participants will celebrate successes, share innovative ideas, and collaboratively establish an agenda to tackle the continent’s most pressing issues.
The 3rd APN Youth Summit will be held concurrently with the Assembly. First launched virtually in November 2021, this summit marked a pioneering moment in the African philanthropy development movement. It honors the vital contributions of African youth leaders who drive community transformation and redefine the future of philanthropy across the continent.
The East Africa Philanthropy Network (EAPN), founded in 2003 as the East Africa Association of Grant-makers, plays a pivotal role in this dialogue. EAPN unites local charitable trusts and foundations in East Africa to nurture a culture of giving. It provides a collaborative platform that champions connects and co-creates innovative solutions to advance regional philanthropy.
The APN Assembly 2024 promises to be a trans-formative event that not only celebrates the achievements of African philanthropy but also fosters collaborative efforts to create a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
