The New Africa Fund has launched the Africa Impact Fundraising (AIF) Grant Program, a targeted initiative designed to help African NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs), and social enterprises strengthen their fundraising capacity and access critical financial support.
The program specifically targets organizations seeking to strengthen their capacity to mobilize resources locally and internationally.
Program Overview
The program begins with foundational online training focused on small donor campaigns, storytelling, donor engagement, and local fundraising strategies.
Up to 70 organizations will be selected to participate in this phase.
After the training, participants will enter a 30-day fundraising challenge where they will apply their new skills.
Organizations that meet specific performance benchmarks will qualify for up to USD 5,000 in matching funds.
Advanced Training in Kigali
Top-performing organizations will be invited to attend a fully funded, week-long intensive workshop in Kigali, Rwanda. This in-person training will cover:
- Financial management
- Donor research and grant writing
- Communications and branding
- Local fundraising techniques
- Donor stewardship and retention
The workshop also promotes peer learning and cross-country collaboration.
Application Requirements
Applicants must upload the following documents in PDF format:
- Proof of official registration
- Organizational chart
- Most recent external audit report
If no audit is available, financial statements for the last five months for all active accounts
Eligibility Criteria
- Legally registered in one of the 55 African Union member states
- Organizations only; individuals and entities registered outside Africa are not eligible
Additional Benefits
- 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship from the New Africa Fund, with the possibility of extension
- Access to continued mentorship and fundraising support
- Opportunity to join a network of partners and future capacity-building programs
