A new nonprofit founded by the Consolata Missionaries has officially launched in Nairobi with a fundraising gala bringing together corporate leaders, mission partners, professionals, and well-wishers to support humanitarian work in marginalized communities across Kenya and Uganda.
The St. Joseph Allamano Foundation was unveiled during an event held at the Muthaiga Country Club on May 21 under the theme “Changing Lives Together.”
Organizers described the launch as a milestone for the Kenya-Uganda Region of the Consolata Missionaries and the first initiative of its kind across all Consolata Missionary circumscriptions globally.
The Foundation aims to support communities living in arid and semi-arid areas where access to clean water, healthcare, and education remains limited.
Guests at the dinner included representatives from KCB Group, NCBA Bank, Britam, SBM Bank and Atlas Copco, alongside industrialists, entrepreneurs and long-time collaborators of the mission.
Speaking during the event, Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia, who chairs the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, assured supporters that the organization would uphold strong accountability standards.
“Under our leadership, no coin contributed will be lost,” Ngatia said.
The Foundation, registered in August 2025 under the Trustees (Perpetual Succession) Act, plans to focus on humanitarian and development interventions, including borehole drilling, water distribution systems, educational support, and healthcare access.
According to organizers, the initiative was established in response to growing needs in drought-affected communities where families continue to struggle with water shortages, poor infrastructure, and limited social services.
The board of trustees includes leaders from law, governance, finance and business alongside representatives of the Consolata Missionaries led by Regional Superior Fr. Zachary Kariuki.
Trustees said the successful launch marks the beginning of broader efforts to mobilize partnerships and resources for long-term community development projects.
