Six new classrooms have been handed over to Chebulbul Primary School in Elgeyo Marakwet County following the completion of a renovation project supported by the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation and the Chris Kirubi Foundation.
The classrooms were officially commissioned on July 3 by marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge during a ceremony marking the completion of the project.
Kipchoge commended the Chris Kirubi Foundation for supporting education, saying investments in learning help create opportunities for future generations.
The project was funded through a Sh1 million donation made by HACO Chairperson Maryanne Kirubi to the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation through the Chris Kirubi Foundation.
The contribution supported the refurbishment of classrooms at the school as part of efforts to improve education infrastructure.
In a statement shared on its official Instagram page following the handover, the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to education.
“Education is a child’s best friend, and we are fully committed to supporting it in every way possible,” the foundation said.
The classroom project aligns with the foundation’s broader focus on expanding access to education and environmental conservation in Kenya and beyond.
Through its programmes, the foundation supports initiatives such as improving learning facilities, promoting access to books and libraries, sponsoring education opportunities and mobilising resources for community projects.
It is also currently leading Eliud’s Running World, a global campaign that aims to raise funds for schools, libraries and environmental initiatives through the power of running.
The campaign connects runners everywhere with Kipchoge’s vision to transform lives through education and nature.
