The African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA) will host its 2026 Conference from 9 to 11 November at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, bringing together leaders from across Africa’s impact investing and philanthropy ecosystem.
Held under the theme, “Beyond Aid: Financing Africa’s Future for Sustainable Impact,” the conference will examine how African institutions, investors and development partners can mobilise sustainable financing solutions that reduce dependence on traditional aid while accelerating inclusive development.
The three-day gathering is expected to attract impact investors, philanthropists, development finance institutions, family offices, pension funds, corporate leaders, policymakers, researchers and social innovators.
Participants will engage in discussions on innovative financing models, strategic partnerships and investment approaches that can unlock long-term social and economic impact across the continent.
According to AVPA, the conference aims to provide a platform for collaboration between public and private sector actors, enabling participants to exchange ideas, showcase successful initiatives and build partnerships that translate into measurable impact.
The 2025 edition brought together 480 attendees from 37 countries, featuring 166 speakers, 44 conference sessions and eight field visits.
The event also attracted representatives from government institutions, development finance institutions, foundations, venture capital and private equity funds, non-governmental organisations, universities and social enterprises.
Building on that momentum, the 2026 conference is expected to deepen conversations around Africa’s financing future and explore practical ways to strengthen investment ecosystems capable of driving sustainable development.
