The awards were presented on 29 September 2026 in Nairobi, where 15 women entrepreneurs graduated from the 12-week programme run by the Standard Chartered Foundation in partnership with Village Capital, iBizAfrica, and Strathmore University.
Each of the seven winning startups received approximately KSh1.29 million after being assessed on innovation, business models, market opportunities, growth potential and social or economic impact.
The startups are developing technology-enabled solutions across sectors including healthcare, agriculture, education and financial inclusion.
Among them, Premac Care connects families with trained healthcare professionals for maternal and newborn care, elderly care and specialised nursing.
ChipuRobo is expanding access to AI and robotics education through locally fabricated learning kits, while Uptyke Consulting is developing AI-powered digital learning solutions for learners with disabilities.
Other awardees include Nakuru Tubers, which connects smallholder farmers with verified agricultural inputs, and FishBox Africa and Trident Analytics, which are using technology to improve aquaculture productivity and farm management.
Seta Farm is turning organic waste into mushrooms while creating income opportunities for women and young people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Vincent Ogutu, Vice Chancellor of Strathmore University, said the entrepreneurs had an opportunity to create impact beyond their individual businesses.
“Entrepreneurs are doers. They identify problems, develop solutions and create meaningful impact,” Ogutu said.
The programme provides women-led, technology-enabled businesses with mentorship, business development support, investment readiness training and access to networks.
Since launching in Kenya in 2017, the Women in Tech programme has supported 107 women-led startups and awarded more than KSh51.5 million in funding, positioning the latest cohort within a wider effort to expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
