Global development leaders are set to gather in Lagos in July 2026 for the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS), as attention increases on financing Africa’s long-term growth.
The summit will take place on 22–23 July at the Eko Convention Center, bringing together government officials, investors, development partners, and philanthropic actors for discussions on development financing across the continent.
ASIS is convened by the Sterling One Foundation in partnership with the United Nations in Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
The discussions will centre on how to unlock capital for development, with a focus on blended finance, and private sector investment.
The 2026 edition comes at a time when Africa’s population is projected to exceed 2.5 billion by 2050, increasing pressure on infrastructure, jobs, education, and healthcare systems across the continent.
Philanthropy is expected to feature more prominently in this shift, with increased collaboration between donors, governments, and investors aimed at supporting scalable solutions in education, healthcare, food systems, women’s empowerment, and youth development.
“The Africa Social Impact Summit provides a powerful platform for bringing together governments, the private sector, and development partners to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Mohamed Malick Fall, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nigeria.
More than 2,000 participants from over 50 countries are expected to attend, with the summit focusing on strengthening partnerships that can translate capital into measurable development outcomes across Africa.
